...to the most self indulgent shit i've done in a while!
this is chillwaves, named and modeled after shitty 2010s 8tracks and music blog core aesthetics. this is dreamwidth we're on a truckstop journal website that looks straight outta 2007. let's own it and have some fun and share some banger music in the process.
this comm's whole thing is music - more specifically, playlists, mixtapes, fanmixes, literally ANYTHING that involves putting four or more songs together by different artists as a set. share your playlists! share their cover art and track-lists and spotify embeds and even pics of your physical copies of them if you do that too! do whatever! have fun!
some ground rules:
- be respectful and kind. keep it chill here. any bigotry will result in an immediate ban.
- all playlist posts must include at least one playlist. you can either just drop a streaming link or go all out with a list and cover art, whatever you want!
- multiple playlists per post are allowed
- non-playlist posts must be about music and/or playlists in some regard, including discussion on music recording formats or playlist making or anything that might suit the community. if you're unsure, feel free to comment here
- if needed, provide content warnings for the subject matter of your playlist if it's something heavy or potentially triggering
- recommendations of playlists by other people are allowed, though you might wanna get permission before sharing it if you don't know the person? up to you though i don't think there's anything necessarily harmful about sharing a public playlist
tag guidelines:
- this is pretty low pressure for the record
- tag your non-fandom playlists as "playlist", tag your fanmixes as "fanmix"
- for fanmixes, optionally, you can tag the fandom with the prefix "fandom:" followed by the fandom name. for instance, the first fanmix posted here is tagged as "fandom: kamen rider"
- if you post photos of a cassette mixtape or burned CD, tag them as "mixtape" (and/or "tape") or "cd" respectively
- tag non-playlist posts as "discussion"
resources and more:
- resources & mini tutorials by yours truly: a
chillwaves exclusive! there's some basic info on burning CDs and recording cassette tapes in there, with more resources to be added
optional posting format:
(this is completely optional, format however you want, but if you don't know how to format and want a template then use the template below and edit as needed)
that's about it! comment if you have any questions!
