I compiled a tracklist + lyric snippets for the (very long) writing playlist I had for a fic WIP I completed over the summer. It's at my journal :)

I always find it fun to approach writing project-specific mixes differently than a general character/ship fanmix; I'm usually a bit looser with mood and genre, as it corresponds more to the arc of the story than just commenting on the canon themes/dynamics as they are, but hopefully also feels cohesive.

This one features a lot of stuff that sits at the interstice of where noise, metal, industrial, and experimental electronic music run up against folk and acoustic instrumentation. It's probably worth a listen if that's your jam whether or not you have further context.

The lyrics deal with violence and abuse, as well as sexually explicit content.

Technically this is a fanmix for the cdrama adaptation of Hikaru no Go, but as the show is set in the 2000s, it's also just... a nostalgia playlist. :P Did this back in 2020 and only just remembered it now!

Concept: Jiang Xueming and Gu Yu put together a mixtape. (Lots of S.H.E in this because I'm sure Mingming loves S.H.E.)
